I’m Daniel Chavez—also known as Dan the Roofman. I come from a fourth-generation general contractor background. I’ve worked on more than 15,000 insurance claims during my career. My project experience spans 14 states.
Otter Creek brings that experience to contractors building stronger operations and law firms working through complex roofing claims.

I’ve seen how much a roofing project depends on the decisions made before anyone steps onto the roof. I built Otter Creek to share the lessons I learned in the field—with contractors who want better systems and law firms who need a clear understanding of the roofing facts.

Does Otter Creek install roofs?
Otter Creek’s two consulting services focus on specialty roof system implementation for contractors and independent claim files for law firms. We do not pitch roofing work.
What makes a contractor a good fit?
Contractors who want practical help with specialty roof systems, sales-to-production processes, quality control and project follow-through. Daniel plans to select two or three contractors to work with; contact him to discuss fit and availability.
Do you accept every claim file?
No. Daniel reviews the circumstances and available information to determine fit. Honest assessment includes strengths, limitations and possible outcomes.
Where does Daniel work?
